Sit Stand Desk – Every now and then you take a break. You change your posture, stretch or go to the machine for a coffee, but most of the time you are sitting. If you are responsible, you will be sitting in an ergonomic posture. If you are like most people, you will be leaning towards your computer screen. It is clear that we all know what is the right way to sit in front of the computer. Although later we ignore, we all have had to swallow some occupational risk prevention course. The consequences of spending a lot of time sitting incorrectly are many and varied: muscle aches, hernias, poor circulation etc.
To avoid these problems, the concept of sit stand desk appears. The idea is that we work standing up, instead of sitting down. Obviously, we have to adapt our work environment for this new position. Although there are many studies that have shown that working long periods of time sitting is bad for your health, there is none that clearly demonstrates that working on your feet is healthier. The supposed benefits are reducing the risk of obesity, reducing the risk of suffering metabolic problems such as diabetes or cardiovascular problems. At the moment there are opinions for all tastes. There are some who are delighted with the idea and who would not change it for anything.
But there are other people who have tried it to work on their feet and have had to give up. A search in Google offers us a multitude of specialized stores that sell this type of sit stand desk. The prices are for all budgets. The more advanced versions are more adaptable and allow you to work standing or sitting, as needed. I recognize that I have not tried it, but the idea catches my attention. At least for the developments that I do at home, I could find it useful. Convincing my boss to buy me a desk of this type, I find it more difficult.
